TDF - Apeirophobia

The next challenge would be to face your worst fears. In order to win, she had to overcome it. Britney smirked. Good luck finding a fear for me, she thought. Britney was practically fearless. Nothing really came to her mind when she asked herself, “what am I scared of?” She’s really just too mature and ‘cool’ for that. Plus she was too much of a logical thinker to believe in such things as paranormal activities. The movies of "Paranormal Activity" she enjoyed though, because she loves horror. But the scary stories and jumpscares would never get to her. She’d be surprised, yes, but never frightened.
Bugs, height, death, nothing was scary enough.
They brought her to a huge building. She got blindfolded in front of the door, and she heard how they opened it, felt how they pushed her into the room. “You can take off the bandage,” they said and she heard the door closing.
“Are they really putting me into an ooh-so-scary dark room or house, with monsters? They actually expected me to be scared of something like that?” Britney thought sarcastically while she untied the bandage that kept her from seeing anything and took it off. “That’s just lam--”
She gasped, dropped the bandage in disbelief. No, no, this was not lame.
This was horrible.
Too scared to even wonder how they found out that this particular thing made her stomach turn in the most unpleasant ways, she just stood there. She couldn’t even blink. All logic thoughts of how this was probably technically made and how her body would have blown up if this was real were drawn away from her head.
How could she overcome this fear? There was no way out, she was trapped forever! Nothing she could do, in this incredible void of everything.
The universe and it’s infinity.

When I first read the next challenge for TDF, it occurred to me; what fear does Britney have, what is she most afraid of?
I actually didn’t have a fear for her yet x3 It got me thinking. She’s intelligent, mature and a punk(ish). What the hell would frighten that kind of personality? Paranormal stuff or killers, all that stuff, she’s just not scared of it!
I’m actually glad about this challenge, because every person has a fear. Some more than others, but still. Every person has something that gets them out of their comfort zone. So this helped me to make her a more well-rounded OC.
I really couldn’t think of any fear that would still be ‘in character’, so I searched a list of phobia’s on Google. Then I found Apeirophobia, a phobia of infinity.
This immediately got to me, because I have this fear too. The thought of the universe, how it will never end, it just scares me to death. Well that’s the thing, death. Death ends it. It will be over, gone. Some people are afraid of that, and though I don't wanna die either (LOL) I’m much more afraid of the opposite: infinity. No end.
I cannot explain this, some people say it’s because I am (too) a logic thinker, where everything fits inside a box of a subject. But infinity doesn’t. It’s forever! Forever does not fit inside a box.
It’s kind of the same thought like thinking what would be there if life on earth would have never existed. Well you could say God created life, but what if that’s not true and life on earth could have not been there. What would the universe be like? We wouldn’t have ever existed, and what would there have been? In this… everything?
Well that just scares the crap out of me, I just don’t even want to think about it.
And I thought this would fit Britney very much too :>

How they found out about this fear, I dunno. Maybe they called her parents? I can picture kid Britney getting all frightened over a photo of the universe or whatever and hiding behind her mom from it LOL
Oh and she probably wouldn’t win this challenge. After 5 mins of terror she’d start screaming of this to stop and they would have to drag her out or something I think LOL

Also I’m only able to post this because I’m on my mom’s PC :/ It turns out my PC and the laptop probably caught a virus, a virus a lot of computers have here in Dutchland at the moment. We both have Vista, maybe it has something to do with that… I DUNNO <:U
But at least I can still draw :3
